Former Flyers Star to Retire After Season

by admin

Former Philadelphia Flyers forward Jaromir Jagr played his final season in the NHL during the 2017-18 campaign with the Calgary Flames. While the 52-year-old winger has been away from the NHL for several years, he has kept his professional career going with the Kladno Knights in Czechia ever since.

However, while speaking with The Athletic’s Rob Rossi on the phone, Jagr revealed that he will be retiring at the end of the 2024-25 season. Thus, Jagr’s remarkable 37-year professional hockey career is coming to a close.

Jagr is one of the greatest players that the NHL has ever seen. In 1,733 career games split between the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, Flyers, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, and Flames, he had 766 goals, 1,155 assists, and 1,921 points. In addition, he was a five-time Art Ross Trophy winner, 13-time All-Star, two-time Stanley Cup champion, one-time Hart Memorial winner (1999), and three-time Lester B. Pearson (now Ted Lindsay Award) winner.
