Forward Cal Burke is set to make his Vegas Golden Knights debut tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 27-year-old signed a two-way contract with the Golden Knights in the offseason and has been playing the Henderson Silver Knights to start the year, scoring two goals and six points in 11 games.
Before joining the Golden Knights organization, Burke was with the Colorado Avalanche and Carolina Hurricanes. He played just three NHL games between the two teams but was a consistent producer with the Colorado Eagles in the AHL.
Burke signed with the Avalanche after he played four years in the NCAA with Norte Dame, captaining the team in his senior year.
HC Bruce Cassidy was asked about tonight’s lineup and told the media that Burke would be entering the lineup and the team would be going back to the traditional 12 forwards and six defensemen.
“Cal Burke will be in, he’s a young guy from Henderson so he’ll go in,” said Cassidy. “I thought he was good in training camp, he was on top of pucks, and he’s got a good offensive IQ. He finds pucks and gets his shot off, I think he scored in Colorado or one of the games. Going to the back post, maybe San Jose, I forget which game it was in but he does a good job that way. He’s not big in stature but he’ll get on top of people and create some disruption on the forecheck. I don’t know a lot about him, he’s new to the organization”
It’s yet to be confirmed but Burke will likely skate on the fourth line alongside Cole Schwindt and Tanner Pearson.
