WINDSOR, ON. The Windsor Spitfires announced Friday that 2021 first round selection Ethan Miedema has signed an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the Hockey Club and is set to suit up for the Red, White and Navy in the 2021-22 season.

With the 4th overall selection in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft, the Windsor Spitfires claimed the rights to a skilled forward in the 2005 born draft class. The 6-foot-4 winger was a member of the Quinte Red Devils over the 2020-21 season.

“Excellent day for the hockey club,” GM Bill Bowler started. “We can’t wait to watch Ethan perform on the ice. He is a special player and has a bright future with our club.”

The Miedema family was able to travel down to Windsor for a socially distanced building tour and see the city! Welcome to Windsor!

Ethan will wear the number 19 for the club.
