The Queen’s University Gaels men’s hockey program announced Tuesday that Kingston Frontenacs overage blueliner Ian Lemieux will be staying in Kingston, committing for the 2023-24 season.
The Midland, Ont. native is the third OHL player to sign with the Gaels this week, joining Windsor’s Renwick and Ottawa’s Tolnai.
“Queen’s has always been of interest to me with its distinguished academics and exceptional athletic programs. Having the opportunity to play for the Frontenacs, I grew to really love what Kingston has to offer”, said Lemieux.
A 6-foot, 187lbs. defenceman, Lemieux played four seasons in the OHL, splitting his career between the Frontenacs, Barrie Colts, and Saginaw Spirit. The left shooting blueliner tallied 45 total points (7-38-45) over 166 games played.
