Golden Knights Defenseman Returns To Practice In Non-Contact Jersey

by admin

Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Nicolas Hague returned to practice in a red, non-contact jersey.

Hague was placed on the injured reserve on Nov. 8 after he suffered a lower-body injury against the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 25. The 25-year-old went on to miss the next three games before returning to the lineup on Nov. 2 against Utah HC. He played just one game upon returning and has been sidelined ever since.

Today’s return to practice was the first time Hague has skated since the overtime win over Utah.

Until recently, Kaedan Korczak and Ben Hutton have rotated in and out of the lineup during Hague’s absence. The previous two outings have seen both Korczak and Hutton feature, each taking shifts as forwards on the Golden Knights’ fourth line.

The 2017, second-round pick’s return to practice doesn’t signify that his return is imminent but it’s a positive sign that a return to game action is inching closer. The next step for Hague is to be a full participant in practice, taking and receiving possible contact in team drills.

The Golden Knights travel to take on the Auston Matthews-less Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday before encounters with the Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers and the Colorado Avalanche.

No timetable has been given about when Hague will return but inserting him in the lineup at some point during the road trip would be a massive boost.
