Vegas Golden Knights’ Carl Lindbom ranked 15th by Elite Prospects in their top NHL-affiliated goaltender prospects.
The 21-year-old Swede was drafted by the Golden Knights in the seventh round of the 2021 NHL draft. Since being drafted, he’s spent time in the SHL, HockeyAllsvenskan and the J20.
In the 2023-24 season, Lindbom was on loan to Farjestad BK of the SHL and posted excellent numbers, finishing the season with a .911SV% and a 2.12GAA in 26 games.

Lindbom’s development has become a pleasant surprise and one that the Golden Knights have welcomed. He’ll be making the transition to North American hockey next season when he joins the Henderson Silver Knights.
The Silver Knights have four goaltenders named to their roster at the moment. Lindbom will play alongside Akira Schmid, Jesper Vikman and Jordan Papirny. Schmid will likely also serve as the Golden Knights’ third-string goaltender and could spend time in the NHL if Ilya Samsonov or Adin Hill suffer any injuries.
The recognition Lindbom is receiving is deserved and is a product of the work he has put in to consistently improve. At just 6’1, Lindbom is a shorter goaltender compared to many of the league’s best but his ability to move from side to side and stay calm in between the posts are key reasons for his development.
A strong 2024-25 season could see him finish higher on this list next year.
