The Vegas Golden Knights have reassigned Akira Schmid, Mason Morelli and Robert Hagg to the Henderson Silver Knights.
The Golden Knights acquired Schmid from the New Jersey Devils in the offseason and their plan has always been to start him in the AHL and serve as the team’s third goaltender.

Hagg was another off-season edition who was brought in to provide veteran depth for the Silver Knights and an injury-crisis defensive callup. The 29-year-old played 47 games with the San Diego Gulls scoring three goals and 12 points.
Morelli played his first season with the Silver Knights during the 2023-24 campaign where he notched 13 goals and 29 points in 56 games. He also received a promotion to the NHL playing nine games and recording three goals.
The Silver Knights added older depth options to provide veteran experience for the young crop of players they have on their roster and that they will be integrating this year.
The Golden Knights roster is still above the limit at 26 meaning at least three cuts will be made before the beginning of the season.
