The Brock University Badgers men’s hockey program has announced that Soo Greyhounds blueliner Ryan Thompson has committed for the 2023-24 season.
Drafted eighth overall by the North Bay Battalion in the 2019 U18 OHL Priority Selection, the Mississauga, Ont. native played three seasons in the OHL, splitting his time between the Greyhounds, Battalion and Erie Otters where he recorded 21 points (3-18-21) over 156 games played.
“Brock has a strong reputation for academics and athletics with a focused environment and facilities for its student-athletes,” Thompson said. “I’m enthusiastic to meet my teammates and other varsity teams while winning some games.”
The 6-foot-3 defenceman will study Recreation and Leisure Studies in the fall.
