Niagara, ON – The Niagara IceDogs have announced Brandon Shaw as an Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

“I am honoured to be joining the IceDogs, a premier organization in the OHL,” said Brandon Shaw, “I would like to thank Darren & Michele DeDobbelaer, Wayne Gretzky as well as Dan Fitzgerald for providing this opportunity to compete in the best development league in the world”.

Brandon Shaw is coming to Niagara after spending the past five years in the BCHL. Shaw started in the league as an Assistant Coach & Director of Scouting for the Merritt Centennials for two seasons, where he served as part of the Coach of the year staff. He then moved on as the Associate Coach & Director of Player Development for Alberni Valley for two seasons which lead him to his most recent role as Head Coach & Assistant GM for the Coquitlam Express.

Prior to his time in British Columbia, Shaw spent time as an Analyst for the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL while they were an Affiliate for the Montreal Canadiens.  He then worked in the GOJHL for the Cambridge Winterhawks as an Assistant Coach for two years alongside IceDogs’ current Head Coach Daniel Fitzgerald when he was honoured with GOJHL Coach of the year.

In 2019, Brandon Shaw founded Process Hockey where he is the Head Instructor. With this business, he has had the opportunity to work with and helped develop numerous NHL, AHL & pro players and has helped 75+ players receive NCAA Division 1 Scholarships.

With the season approaching, Shaw shared, “I look forward to building relationships with all our players and prospects and pushing them in their development to reach their goal of getting to the NHL, while in pursuit of bringing the great community of Niagara and the best fanbase in the OHL a Robertson Cup!”
