It was the most Leafs thing ever for Pierre Engvall to come back & torch them: Leafs Morning Take

Another soul crushing loss for the Maple Leafs.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

And unfortunately, the whole eight-day break excuse isn’t going to fly. The Islanders were coming off the same break.

Carter Hutton filled in for Jay Rosehill on the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take. To kick things off, Huttsy gave his thoughts on All-Star Weekend in Toronto. More specifically, we talked about the strong showing in the crease. It’s funny what happens when you throw money into the equation.

Presented by Door Dash, in The Appetizer, we jumped more in depth into Toronto’s 3-2 loss to the Islanders on Monday night. Once again, the Leafs shot themselves in the foot a few times, and ultimately, it ended up costing them the hockey game. Additionally, we discussed Pierre Engvall. From the video tribute to scoring the game winning goal, the former Leaf had his way with his former mates. It was actually so sickening. Very Leafy.

Next, brought to you by Charm Diamond Centres, we had a look at Toronto’s struggles at home. They’re 2-6-0 in their last eight outings at Scotiabank Arena and 11-10-2 overall this season. If this team is going to go on a substantial run this spring, those numbers will have to change in a hurry. MAKE SBA A HOUSE OF PAIN!

Lastly, courtesy our new friends over at Great Clips, we dissected the February slate. The Leafs are scheduled to play six games at home and five on the road. Simply put, the next three weeks will go a long way in determining if this team is for real or not.

Jay Rosehill will be back for the Wednesday edition of Leafs Morning Take. Join us at 11 AM ET as we preview Toronto’s second and final meeting of the season with the Dallas Stars.
