Peterborough, ON – Peterborough Petes General Manager, Michael Oke, announced on Saturday, September 10, that the team has signed 2022 first round, 15th overall CHL Import Draft pick, Tommy Purdeller, to a standard player agreement.
Purdeller joins the Petes from EC RB Akademie in Salzburg, Austria, where he has played since 2018. Born in Brunico, Italy, Tommy played 30 games in the AlpsHL last season, where he recorded 11 goals and 24 assists for 35 points. He also won a gold medal with Italy in the 2021 World Junior Championships Division 2A, where he had 5 points in 5 games.
When asked about joining the Petes, Tommy had this to say: “It’s an honour to wear the Petes jersey and I can’t wait to get started. I’m going to use my combination of skill and physical play to make a difference on the ice.”
When asked about Tommy, Petes General Manager, Michael Oke said: “We are excited to have Tommy join our group. We expect him to be a solid addition to our existing lineup.”
Tommy will make his pre-season debut on Saturday, September 10 at 4:05pm when the Petes take on the Sudbury Wolves in Millbrook. A select number of tickets will be available at the door. The game will also be streamed live on the Petes Facebook page.
