Kingston, Ontario – Kingston Frontenacs General Manager Kory Cooper announced today that the hockey club has signed goaltender J.J. Salajko to a Standard Player Agreement. J.J. was selected in the eighth-round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection by the Frontenacs.

J.J. Salajko, a 6’2”, 174-pound native of Worthington, Ohio, is in the midst of a standout season while playing for the Detroit Little Caesars. The netminder currently holds a record of 18-7-5 with a .934 save percentage and a 1.94 goals against average. He has also registered four shutouts this season.

The 16-year-old is the son of former OHL netminder Jeff Salajko, who played four OHL seasons between the Ottawa 67’s, Niagara Falls Thunder and Sarnia Sting from 1992-96 followed by a lengthy professional career. A former goaltending coach for the Detroit Red Wings, Jeff Salajko now serves as a goaltending scout with the Edmonton Oilers.

J.J. Salajko is set to join his teammates as the Kingston Frontenacs continue their Western Ontario road trip with a stop in Sarnia tonight and an afternoon tilt against Kitchener tomorrow.
