MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday, with defender Jenny Heath ’22 earning Player of the Week accolades for Women’s Ice Hockey.

The Pinckney, Michigan native recorded her first career hat trick for the Soaring Eagles over the weekend and tallied four goals in a pair of wins for Elmira. Heath tallied 18 shots while garnering a +5 plus/minus rating for the Purple & Gold.

Heath tallied a goal for the Soaring Eagles and was a +3 on the ice on Friday as No. 11 Elmira defeated Salem State 5-1 in NEHC action at the Murray Athletic Center. She would close the weekend for Elmira by tallying three goals with one coming on the power play and another counting as the eventual game-winning goal in a 5-0 shutout against Southern Maine.

This is the first weekly accolade for Heath, who was named to the 2021-22 All-NEHC First Team while also garnering 2021-22 CCM/AHCA First Team All-American honors for the Soaring Eagles.

The Soaring Eagles (13-5-0, 12-0-0 NEHC) will wrap up a five-game homestand this Saturday at the Murray Athletic Center with nationally ranked Nazareth College paying a visit on Athletics Alumni Weekend. Puck drop between the Soaring Eagles and Golden Flyers is scheduled for 3:00 P.M.
