Knights acquire hometown product Liam SpencerThe London Knights added to their back end on Wednesday morning, acquiring 6-foot-4, 215Ib. blueliner Liam Spencer from the Brampton Steelheads.
The Knights dealt Brampton a seventh-round pick in 2025 in the move, one accompanied by another trade with the Steelheads that consisted of just draft picks. London traded Windsor’s fourth-round pick in 2025 and a second-round pick in 2028 to Brampton, getting their own second-round pick in 2025 back in exchange.
A graduate of the London Jr. Knights U16 AAA program, Spencer spent most of the 2023-24 season with the Strathroy Rockets of the GOJHL, recording six goals, 21 assists and 27 points over 29 games to go with 91 penalty minutes. He also appeared in four games with the Steelheads, recording a pair of assists. Spencer also suited up in eight games with the Trout in 2022-23 after being selected in the fourth round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.
