London Knights overage centreman Billy Moskal will attend the University of Toronto and compete for the Varsity Blues men’s hockey program The Sudbury Star’s Ben Leeson recently reported.

The newly-turned 21-year-old from Sudbury, Ont. plans to study commerce as U of T’s Rotman School of Management in the fall while also lacing up the skates for the OUA West Division’s reigning first place team.

A steady two-way centreman with prowess in the face-off circle, Moskal recorded 27 points (13-14–27) in 58 games during the 2019-20 season, winning 57.9 percent of his draws. London’s former second round (40th overall) pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection has accumulated 91 points (34-57–91) over 205 career regular season games.

“They (U of T) were kind of keen on me from the beginning and as soon as the period started where they were allowed to recruit, they were on me from the beginning, they told me to come and that they had a good spot for me,” Moskal told Leeson. “They thought I would be a good fit for the program and the vision they’re going with. I thought that was really exciting and the campus looked really nice, the facilities looked awesome, so I thought it was a good scenario.”

Though undrafted, Moskal has attended past NHL training camps with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets. He’ll join fellow 2021-22 commits in Sudbury Wolves veterans Emmett Serensits and Owen Robinson at U of T in the fall.
