Sabres want to move on from Eichel?
Franklin Heinzmann of WGR 550: Elliotte Friedman said on WGR 550 The Instigators show yesterday morning that the Buffalo Sabres want to move on from captain Jack Eichel.
âOther teams are saying youâve got an unhappy player who doesnât want to come back. The Sabres, I really think at the end of the day, want to move on. They donât want him back, they want to move on.â
Friedman adds that teams are trying to talk Sabres GM Kevyn Adams to move Eichel sooner than later. Adams needs to hold strong and create a market for him.
âWhat the Sabres are trying to do is say, âWeâve got teams interested in Eichel, and weâre going to play you all against each other to try and drive up the value,’â Friedman said. âWhat teams are saying is, âYes, youâve got other teams , but heâs got an injury. We donât know about the process.â ⦠They also say, âYou guys arenât dealing from a position of strengthâ in negotiations.â
Reinhart getting plenty of trade interest
WGR 550: Elliotte Friedman when asked about Sabres forward Sam Reinhart.
** NHLRumors transcription
âIâll tell you this. Iâve heard there is a lot of interest in Reinhart. Iâve heard there is a lot. The thing that makes Reinhart a little trickier is that youâve got to do a contract with him. So thatâs not to say itâs impossible but I think it makes it a little trickier but Iâve hear there is a lot of interest.â
When asked if potential acquiring teams are going to want to speak with Reinhartâs agent to see if they could get a deal done, then talk to the Sabres about the pieces to acquire. Friedman:
âYes, they can ask.
Yes. Now Reinhart canât, actually, he can sign an extension at any time. So you can do that with him. Yes, that would be what would happen. The team would say, âcan we talk to his agent.â And even if they werenât given permission, they might talk to him anyway.â
