The Peterborough Petes honoured their long-time head trainer and equipment manager Brian ‘BMan’ Miller prior to puckdrop on Thursday as part of Faith and Family Night at the PMC.
Miller, who has been with the Petes since 2002, got his start in athletic therapy and sports injury rehabilitation while a student at Brock University, and moved on to Sheridan College’s Athletic Therapist program. Miller joined the Guelph Storm in 1993 following graduation and has been in the hockey world ever since.
Miller worked his 1,500th career contest in the Ontario Hockey League on Dec. 1st when the Petes played host to the Flint Firebirds. With 480 career games spent with the American Hockey League’s Saint John Flames from 1996-2002, Miller reached the 2,000 game milestone prior to Peterborough’s 3-0 shutout of the London Knights Thursday night.
The Petes presented Miller with a commemorative display pre-game as his wife Esther, and several members of his family were on hand for a photo with the entire Petes lineup at centre ice.
