The Pittsburgh Penguins announced they have activated goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic from injured reserve and assigned him to their AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on a conditioning loan.
Nedeljkovic has yet to play since suffering an injury in a pre-season game against the Detroit Red Wings.
The 28-year-old can remain in the AHL for 14 days.
The Parma, OH, native played the majority of the games for Pittsburgh in the second half of last season. He appeared in 38 games and had a record of 18-7-7 with a .902 SV% and 2.97 GAA.
He also started one AHL game on a conditioning stint last season
Nedeljkovic originally signed a one-year deal with the Penguins in July 2023, before re-upping with a two-year deal that runs through the 2025-26 season and pays him $2.5 million annually.
The WBS Penguins play a home-and-home with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday and Saturday so expect to see Nedeljkovic in at least one game.
