Quinton Burns commits to Frontenacs – Ontario Hockey League

Quinton Burns has signed a Standard Player Agreement to join the Kingston Frontenacs.

Burns was a second-round selection, 35th overall by the Frontenacs. It was the second of back-to-back picks in the 2nd round for Kingston during the 2021 OHL Priority Selection on June 4.

Quinton was a member of the Kemptville 73’s of the HEO during the 2020-21 season. The previous season was spent with the Greater Kingston Frontenacs. During that season, the puck moving defenseman scored 4 goals and 9 assists in 24 games.

Burns was asked how he felt when he heard his name called on draft day. He responded: “It was just pure excitement. It’s something I’ve been working for my whole life so to hear my name called was a relief, but it was really awesome!”

Paul McFarland, Head Coach and GM of the Frontenacs, described what the young player adds to the organization: “We are very excited to have signed and added Quinton to our program. He is a big, puck moving defender, with his best asset being his skating ability. Over the course of the season, he demonstrated a competitiveness to play hard against the opposing team’s top players, which will be good addition to our blue line.”

During a recent interview, Burns was asked what Frontenacs fans can expect from him on the ice. He responded: “I think they can expect a two-way defenseman that is reliable in my own zone, but I can make a good first pass and then join the rush to try and create an offensive opportunity.”

Be sure to follow www.kingstonfrontenacs.com for more information about training camp as it becomes available. Quinton will join recently signed Matthew Soto and Mitchell Brooks, along with returning Frontenacs players, at camp later this summer.
