The Rangers announced on Thursday morning that they’ve agreed to terms on a one-year extension with defenseman Ty Emberson.
The 23-year-old was originally acquired by the Rangers in a July 2022 trade with the Arizona Coyotes, playing the entire 2022-23 season with the Hartford Wolfpack.
In 69 games for the Wolfpack, Emberson scored seven goals and added 20 assists. He was also selected as the best defenseman in the AHL’s Eastern Conference.
A University of Wisconsin product, Emberson has yet to make his NHL debut, but he’s posted 12 goals and 27 assists in 132 career games at the AHL level.
