The NHL has announced that the Rangers, Islanders and Devils will all take part in the 2024 NHL Stadium Series which will be held at MetLife Stadium.
The Blueshirts will face the Isles on Sunday, Feb. 18 while the Devils will play the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, Feb. 17 in a couple of longtime divisional rivalry matchups. It will be the first time four NHL teams have played outdoor games at the same venue in front of fans.
All four teams have played in at least one regular-season outdoor game before with the Flyers having played the most with five overall (1-3-1). The Rangers have played in four such games and have enjoyed much success, going a perfect 4-0-0.
Meanwhile, the Islanders and Devils have each played in one outdoor game and are both 0-1-0 on the outside ice. Each of the losses by New Jersey and the Isles came at the hands of the Rangers at the 2014 NHL Stadium Series inside Yankee Stadium.
“The New York Rangers are thrilled to have the opportunity to play at MetLife Stadium as part of the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series,” New York Rangers President and GM Chris Drury said. “Taking part in marquee events is a privilege we don’t take for granted. I’m excited for our players, organization and fans that the Rangers will have the chance to play outdoors next February.”
