Frank Seravalli is reporting that David Jiříček, the disgruntled defenseman for the Blue Jackets, will be traded to the Minnesota Wild.
Per reports, the Jackets will get draft picks and defenseman Daemon Hunt. The picks will be a conditional 2025 first, a 2027 second, and a 2026 third and fourth.
The Jackets also send a 5th rounder to Minnesota with Jiříček.
Sources say #mnwild are finalizing deal to acquire David Jiricek from #CBJ.
Jiricek was No. 6 overall pick in 2022. Now with Brock Faber, #mnwild might have the top young right side of any blue line in #NHL.@DailyFaceoff

Jiříček has played 53 NHL games and has a total of 11 points. He’s also played 88 AHL: games and has 60 points.
Here’s the THN Minnesota point of view.
Don Waddell said in a statement, “Daemon is a very good, young defenseman and we are excited to welcome him to the Blue Jackets family. In addition to adding a very good prospect, the draft picks we’ve acquired provide us with valuable assets that we can use to improve our club moving forward. I’d also like to thank David for his contributions during his time with our organization and wish him well.”
Hunt was drafted in the third round of the 2020 draft by the Wild. He has played 13 NHL games and has a single point. Hunt has also played 125 games for the Iowa Wild and has 45 points.
So this ends the tenure of David Jiříček.
What’s Next – The Blue Jackets are on the road Sunday to face Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks.
