The Buffalo Sabres suffered a tough 6-4 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday (Oct. 17). With it, they now have a 1-4-1 record, and frustrations surrounding the team are only increasing.

After picking up a hard-fought win against the Florida Panthers last Saturday (Oct 12), the Sabres put themselves in a good position to turn things around. Their schedule following this matchup got lighter, as their next opponents were two non-playoff teams from last season in the Pittsburgh Penguins and Blue Jackets. However, they, of course, lost both games.
The Sabres will now also play another non-playoff team from last season in their next game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Unfortunately, with their two straight losses to the Penguins and Blue Jackets, they have already failed to take advantage of this lighter three-game swing.
The Sabres will now look to at least pick up a victory against the Blackhawks in their next matchup. If they lose again, there will only be more questions and noise surrounding the team.
