by

Despite trailing 2-1 in the series early on, the St. Louis Blues are off to the next round of the Stanley Cup playoffs after beating the Minnesota Wild 5-1 in Game 6.

The Wild are out of the first round for the seventh year in a row, last making it to the second round in 2015.

Nick Leddy got the game going with a goal at 14:59, while goals from Ryan O’Reilly, Tyler Bozak and Vladimir Tarasenko put the game away in the second. Colton Parayko scored St. Louis’ last goal, while Matt Dumba scored the lone marker for the Wild at 46:25.

The Blues have now made it to the second round for the fourth time in the past seven years, highlighted by a Stanley Cup win in 2019. St. Louis will now meet with the Colorado Avalanche in the second round in a rematch of Colorado’s 4-0 sweep a year ago.
