Steven Stamkos, Roman Josi and Gustav Nyquist each had a goal an assist for the Nashville Predators in a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche Saturday at Bridgestone Arena.
Nashville scored its first two goals of the game on five shots in the second period and went 2-for-2 on the power play in the win. Juuse Saros turned aside 28 shots to earn his third win of the season.

Game Summary
After a scoreless first period, the Predators got into some penalty trouble early in the second. Stamkos was whistled for hooking, giving the Avalanche seven seconds on the man advantage until Colorado’s Ivan Ivan was called for holding against Brady Skjei. The teams played at 4-on-4 for roughly 40 seconds until Forsberg went to the box for holding. About 20 seconds into the 4-on-3, Cale Makar fired a wrist shot from the top of the circle that snuck past Saros to give the Avalanche a 1-0 lead.
Stamkos answered with a power-play tally of his own later in the period, hammering home a slap shot from the left face-off circle to tie the score at 1-1.
Colton Sissons broke the tie in the final minutes of the second period, redirecting a Marc Del Gaizo shot into the back of the net to make it 2-1 in favor of the home team.
Josi extended Nashville’s lead in the third period on the Predators’ second power-play opportunity of the game. With Joel Kiviranta in the box for high-sticking, Josi hammered home a shot from the slot to make it 3-1, Nashville.
The Avalanche pulled their goalie for the extra attacker late in the period, and Nathan MacKinnon capitalized with a backhand shot over Saros’ right shoulder to bring Colorado within one. The Predators responded quickly, as both Forsberg and Nyquist scored into the empty net for the 5-2 final.
