WINNIPEG, December 30, 2022 – The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have agreed to terms with their 2022 third-round pick (77th overall) forward Danny Zhilkin on a three-year, entry-level contract with an average annual value in the NHL of $913,333. Zhilkin has been assigned to the OHL’s Guelph Storm where he has been playing so far this season.
Zhilkin, 19, has 25 points (11G, 14A) and 17 penalty minutes in 23 games for Guelph this season. The Moscow, Russia native is playing in his third season for the Storm and has collected 95 points (41G, 54A) and 63 PIMs in 149 games.
Zhilkin represents Canada internationally and he captured a gold medal at the 2021 IIHF World U18 Championship, posting two assists in seven games. He also played at the 2019 World U-17 Hockey Challenge where he recorded six points (4G, 2A) in five games for Team Canada Black.
