Bains finished second on Abbotsford in scoring last season with 55 points in 59 games.

Brännström has recorded one assist in three games with Vancouver and three assists in two games with Abbotsford this season.

Prior to this season Brännström last played in the AHL for the Belleville Senators in 2021-22.

The 25-year-old defender has looked good at both levels but only averaged 13:23 of ice time in the NHL, he will be given more ice time in the AHL.

Abbotsford’s next game and home opener comes Friday against the San Diego Gulls, so both players will likely have the opportunity to participate in the festivities.
