The Seattle Kraken announced Monday that Sudbury Wolves forward David Goyette has signed a three-year entry-level NHL contract with the club.
Goyette comes off a 92-point campaign that included a career-high 41 goals and 51 assists along with nine power play goals and seven game winners in 63 games. He was Sudbury’s nominee for the Red Tilson Trophy, awarded to the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player as voted by members of the media. Goyette put up four points (1-3–4) in four games in Sudbury’s first round playoff series against Peterborough.
A 19-year-old from Hawkesbury, Ont., Goyette was voted the top rookie in the Eastern Conference during the 2021-22 season, recording 73 points (33-40–73) over 66 games for the Wolves before being selected by Seattle with their second round (61st overall) pick last summer.
Goyette, along with fellow Kraken prospect Shane Wright of the Windsor Spitfires, has been assigned to Seattle’s AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds as the 2022-23 AHL regular season winds down.
