The Ontario Hockey League hosted the 2022-23 OHL Awards Ceremony on Wednesday afternoon in the Hockey Hall of Fame’s Great Hall in Toronto.
In addition to the 14 presented awards, OHL Commissioner David Branch congratulated the OHL Champion Peterborough Petes, winners of the 2023 J. Ross Robertson Cup, and made congratulations to the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award for OHL Playoff MVP winner Michael Simpson.
Members of the U16 and U14 Toronto Jr. Canadiens were also in attendance and recognized for winning the U16 OHL Cup and U14 OHL Cup.
2022-23 OHL Award Winners:
Matthew Maggio (Windsor Spitfires) – Red Tilson Trophy / Most Outstanding Player – presented by the Globe and Mail, Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy / Top Scorer, and Leo Lalonde Memorial Trophy / Overage Player of the Year.
Dom DiVincentiis (North Bay Battalion) – OHL Goaltender of the Year – presented by Real Canadian Superstore.
Pavel Mintyukov (Ottawa 67’s) – Max Kaminsky Trophy / Defenceman of the Year.
Michael Misa (Saginaw Spirit) – Emms Family Award / Rookie of the Year.
Dave Cameron (Ottawa 67’s) – Matt Leyden Trophy / Coach of the Year.
Mark Hunter (London Knights) – Jim Gregory Award / General Manager of the Year.
Evan Vierling (Barrie Colts) – William Hanley Memorial Trophy / Most Sportsmanlike Player.
Dalyn Wakely (North Bay Battalion) – Dan Snyder Memorial Trophy / Humanitarian of the Year.
Nolan Dillingham (Sarnia Sting) – Mickey Renaud Captain’s Trophy.
Colby Barlow (Owen Sound Attack) – Bobby Smith Trophy / Scholastic Player of the Year.
Ryder McIntyre (Oshawa Generals) – Roger Neilson Memorial Award / Top Academic University Player – presented by Dairy Farmers of Ontario.
George Alboim (Erie Otters) & Ethan Hay (Flint Firebirds) – Ivan Tennant Memorial Award / Top Academic High School Player.
Matthew Schaefer (Erie Otters) – Jack Ferguson Award / First overall pick in OHL Priority Selection.
Drew Jackson – Ken Bodendistel Character Award for Officials.
