Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa 67’s have received a commitment from their seventh-overall selection in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, with defenceman Henry Mews officially joining the team.

“Henry is a mobile, offensive defenceman with playmaking ability,” said General Manager James Boyd. “We’re thrilled to have him officially join the Ottawa 67’s.”

A local product, hailing from Nepean, Mews was selected with the first of Ottawa’s two first-round picks in this year’s draft. He spent the 2021-22 campaign with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, scoring 14 goals and 64 assists for 78 points in 52 games.

In six games at the OHL Cup, Mews recorded a goal and four assists for five points, during his squad’s run to the championship game.
