Haynes Earns First Career Shutout in Tie

OSWEGO, N.Y. –  The Elmira College Soaring Eagles opened their road schedule with a tie against the Oswego St. Lakers on Saturday night, before falling 1-0 in a shootout.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Broady Haynes ’26 stopped all 35 shots he faced through regulation and the overtime period, earning his first career shutout. Gavin McCarthy turned away all 21 at the other end for the Lakers. 

Following a scoreless but physical 65 minutes, the game went to a shootout where Adam Grenier and Connor Gatto scored, sending Oswego home with the shootout win.

Ryan Reifler ’24 led the Soaring Eagles with four shots on goal. 

UP NEXT:
The Soaring Eagles are on the road next weekend as they begin conference play against Southern Maine on Friday night. Opening puck drop between the Soaring Eagles and Huskies is slated for 7:00 PM.
