Bobrowski Steps Down as Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach

by admin

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College Department of Athletics announced the resignation of head women’s ice hockey coach Jake Bobrowski, which will be effective immediately.

During his one full season leading the Purple & Gold, Bobrowski helped guide the Soaring Eagles to its seven straight conference championship appearance (UCHC, NEHC, and ECAC West), while Elmira captured its second-straight New England Hockey Conference regular season title after a perfect 17-0-0 campaign.

Bobrowski picked up his first win at Elmira on October 28, 2022 as the Soaring Eagles skated to a 3-2 victory against Utica University, as MK Boyle ’26 netted the game-winner with under three minutes remaining in regulation.

This season, Bobrowski coached nine Soaring Eagles to NEHC All-Conference accolades, including Emma Bradbury ’26 who earned NEHC Rookie of the Year this past season after scoring nine goals and nine assists for a total of 18 points. A two-time NEHC Rookie of the Week recipient during the season, Bradbury finished 13th in the league in scoring and ninth in goals scored.

As a team, the Soaring Eagles led the country in short-handed goals this past season (6), while ranking within the top-15 nationally in scoring offense, goals, assists, and team shutouts.

The Elmira College Department of Athletics will conduct a national search for its next head coach.
