Artyom Levshunov, the No 2 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, will make his “game debut” in a Blackhawks jersey on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024 against the St. Louis Blues.
It won’t be a real NHL contest, but Levshunov will wear a Hawks sweater for the first time at the fourth annual Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Levshunov, who signed a contract with the Blackhawks last month, will skate on a team with other top Chicago prospects against the Blues up-and-coming players.
Levshunov will then take part in the Blackhawks overall training camp, opening on Sept. 18. It’s expected the 18-year-old will play with the AHL Rockford Ice Hogs in 2024-25, his first pro season after starring as a freshman at Michigan State last winter.

The Kurvers Showcase will include a round-robin style format of exhibition games featuring youngsters from the Blackhawks, Blues and Minnesota Wild. Chicago’s prospects will play Minnesota’s on Saturday, Sept. 14.
All practice sessions and games will be free and open to the public. No ticket or registration will be required to enter during practices and games. The Blackhawks will host the tournament in 2025 as it rotates among the clubs on a yearly basis.
