Fourteen players have worn #37 for the Penguins. Two players who come to mind are forwards Kip Miller and Jarkko Ruutu.

But the best player in Penguins’ history to wear #37 is Jeff Zatkoff.

This was a close one, but Zatkoff actually had some decent numbers for the Penguins and came through in some clutch situations. He was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings, and he played collegiate hockey at Miami University (Ohio).

Over the course of his Penguins’ career, Zatkoff put up a 16-14-3 record, a .915 SV%, and a 2.66 GAA. Although those numbers don’t jump out by any means, Zatkoff was consistent enough for the Penguins to help them in the playoff chase in 2013-14.

He even started two playoff games for the Penguins.

And, simply put, Zatkoff made some spectacular, memorable saves for the Penguins, including this stick save against the Tampa Bay Lightning:

Zatkoff played in only parts of four NHL seasons, and his final stop was with the team that drafted him, the Kings. He retired from the NHL with a .908 SV% and a 2.72 GAA.

Honorable mentions: Kip Miller, Jarkko Ruutu
