Blackhawks Start Slow And Don’t Recover Against Canucks

by admin

The Chicago Blackhawks were at the United Center on Tuesday night to take on the Vancouver Canucks. This was set to be a good measuring stick for the Hawks against a team that won their division and a playoff series a year ago.

Unfortunately, the Hawks are still well behind the Canucks. It was fully displayed in this 6-3 loss on home ice. The skill that Vancouver has took over the game and ran Chicago out of their own building.

J.T. Miller wasn’t even a lock to play in this game due to injury but the Canucks are sure glad he did. He scored one goal and had two assists for 3 points. Other stars like Brock Boeser, Elias Pettersson, and Quinn Hughes also had points in the win.

One player that deserves some extra praise is Danton Heinen. He scored two goals and was an offensive catalyst in the win. He is a depth player in Vancouver but blended in with the stars on the scoresheet.

Heinen’s linemates were impressive and a big reason for his success in this game. Kiefer Sherwood assisted on both of Heinen’s goals and Teddy Bleuger was on one of them. Depth like this is what makes Vancouver extra dangerous.

Heinen’s first goal for the night came just 21 seconds into the first period. From there, the Canucks didn’t look back. They had a 3-1 lead by the 10:46 mark of the first period. That slow start ruined the Hawks’ chances of winning.

Ryan Donato, Taylor Hall, and Tyler Bertuzzi were the goal scorers for the Hawks. Each player’s goal was his second of the season.

There were plenty of frustrations for Connor Bedard, who went scoreless, and others on the team due to some missed opportunities and questionable officiating. It was obvious that the team as a whole was mad after the game.

The Hawks can learn something from this loss though. If they come out in their next game and have a better start, they will have a chance to win it. That chance will come on Friday when they end the homestand with the Nashville Predators.
