Dellandrea is dealing with an upper-body injury. The winger likely suffered the injury on Oct. 26 against the Vegas Golden Knights as he left the game during the first period after just two shifts.
The 24-year-old would return for the second and third periods but did not play in San Jose’s 5-4 win over Utah HC last night due to an upper-body injury.
The Sharks recalled Cardwell for the first time in his career. The winger has had a solid start to the season in the AHL, with one goal and four assists. He was amongst the last cuts from training camp.
Cardwell could make his NHL debut against the Los Angeles Kings tonight. Klim Kostin played 5:34, and Givani Smith played 3:42, making each player a healthy scratch candidate.
San Jose did not hold a morning skate, and head coach Ryan Warsofsky will meet with reporters at 4:30 p.m.
