Haynes Earns Third Player of the Week Selection in Four Weeks

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Empire 8 Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday, with Brody Haynes ’26 earning Goaltender of the Week accolades for Men’s Ice Hockey for the third time in four weeks.

The junior made his sixth consecutive start on Friday for the Soaring Eagles, winning his fifth straight game, bringing his season total to five. Haynes denied 32 shots in a 2-1 win over Albertus Magnus, including 17 in the third period.

The Soaring Eagles are unbeaten in the six games Haynes has backstopped thus far, with the junior from York, Pa. sporting a 5-0-1 record with a .961 SV% and miniscule 1.15 GAA. 

The Empire 8 also recognized Sean Melso from Geneseo as the Player of the Week. 

The Soaring Eagles will return to the ice on Friday, December 6, in Geneva, NY for a big weekend series with the Hobart Statesmen. Opening puck drop for Friday is slated for 7:00 PM.
