The New York Rangers are one day away from their opening night game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Adam Edström, Matt Rempe and Victor Mancini are all expected to make the team and be on the Rangers’ opening night roster.
After playing 11 games for the Rangers this past season, Edström had an impressive training camp and really etched himself a spot on the team’s fourth line.
Meanwhile Rempe came to the Rangers last February and was an instant sensation as his fighting and aggressive style of play made him a fan favorite.
It was expected that Rempe would make the team, so this comes as no surprise.
However, Mancini cracking the opening night roster is surprising. Coming into camp Mancini wasn’t a player that was seen as a roster lock by any means, but throughout training camp he continued to elevate his game, earning himself a spot in the NHL.
These three players are guys to watch if they all indeed play in Wednesday night’s season opener.
