Anton Blidh has found a new home.

The 27-year-old forward spent the last six seasons with the Boston Bruins, but his time with the Original Six club is over. The Colorado Avalanche announced Wednesday they have signed Blidh to a one-year contract. Blidh was an unrestricted free agent.

Blidh played 70 regular season games for the Bruins since 2016-17, including a career-high 32 last season, but he never earned a permanent role in the lineup. He tallied 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in those 70 games.

What would a fair contract extension for Pastrnak, Bruins look like?

His departure is not a surprise at all. There just wasn’t a consistent spot for him in Boston’s NHL lineup, especially with a few other younger Bruins forwards/prospects expected to compete for ice time during training camp and the preseason.

Blidh has landed in a good spot, though. The Avalanche are the defending Stanley Cup champions and play an exciting, fast-paced style of hockey that produces a lot of goals. Blidh should be a decent bottom-six fit in Colorado.
