It didn’t seem like Artemi Panarin could do any better than the 128-point season he had last year, but he is on his way to shattering his best statistical year.
Through the first four games of the 2024-25 season, Panarin has recorded a whopping five goals, six assists and 11 points.
He currently is tied for the most points in the NHL alongside Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin.
The 32-year-old forward has been the leading catalyst in propelling the Rangers to an impressive 3-0-1 record.
While it’s still very early on in the year, it’s hard not to imagine what Panarin can accomplish this season if he keeps on this current trajectory.
It seems that Panarin is contributing on almost every Rangers goal and each time he’s stepped on the ice, his presence has been felt in a huge way.
Panarin’s rocket of a shot has been on full display and his flashy stick handling moves is something to marvel at.
“He’s pretty much always on,” Vincent Trocheck said via The New York Post’s Mollie Walker. “There’s really nothing that you’ve got to look for to know, you just can see it on the ice.”
In the way-too-early rankings for the Hart Trophy, Panarin has to be at the top of that list as he’s playing like the best player in the NHL.
There is still a lot of hockey to be played, practically an entire season’s worth, but based on Panarin’s track record, it’s safe to assume that he’ll continue to light up the statsheet and create a show for fans each and every night.
