The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed Erik Gudbranson to a four-year, $4-million AAV deal.
Gudbranson had 17 points – a career-high – and 68 PIM while averaging 18:08 with the Calgary Flames last season. Gudbranson, 30, brings a physical force to the Blue Jackets’ blueline that makes him tough to play against.
This definitely feels like an overpay for the Blue Jackets, but he’s a veteran presence that isn’t afraid to drop the gloves and get dirty.
