Brad Fogal named Attack Goaltending CoachOwen Sound Attack General Manager Dale DeGray announced today the hiring of Brad Fogal, as the team’s new Goaltending Coach.
“Brad comes to us highly recommended from a few goalie coaches i’ve had experiences with over the last number of years” said DeGray said when asked about the hiring process. “He is a family man with a tremendous work ethic that will help develop our goalie tandem throughout the season. He runs a successful goalie training institute and he understands today’s goalie. I would like to welcome Brad and his family to the Attack organization and look forward to a long working relationship.”
Originally from Sharon, ON, Fogal played in the OJHL for the Newmarket Hurricanes (04-07) where he was then traded to Pickering Panthers for the remainder the 2006-07 season. Moving on, Fogal was a goaltender for the “Bulldogs” attending Adrian College from 2007-11, where he had a saving average of .923 (SV%). Fogal went on to play in the CHL for teams such as the Quad City Mallards (11-12), Texas Brahmas (11-12) , Fort Worth Brahmas (12-13) and Arizona Sundogs (13-14).
Begining his goaltender coach career, Fogal would be named Head Goaltending and Assistant Coach for the Kingston Voyaguers (2015-18) where he oversaw day-to-day goaltending, analysis and development of the teams goaltenders. Notably, Fogal also has a history working with Hockey Canada as a Goaltending Consultant for Canada’s National Women’s Team beginning in 2022.
Having near 20 years of experience, Fogal is a Co-owner of Goalie Training Institute (Website Here) where he has helped to built and develop goaltenders in the GTA area.
“It’s a true honour to join the Owen Sound Attack organization and staff.” Fogal said. “I would like to thank Mr. DeGray and the Attack ownership for this opportunity as well a as a special thank you to my family for their support as I embark on this new chapter of my coaching journey.
Fogal goes on to say that he looks forward to ‘getting the season going’ as the Attack are scheduled for training camp the last week of August.
“I come in with a simple goal: to provide the guidance , support and mentorship that the team’s netminders (current and future) deserve and require as they navigate this part of their hockey careers.”
