The fifth week of the domestic hockey season featured goals, drama, and the making of history. The Bristol Pitbulls secured their first win since jumping into the National League, overcoming Bees IHC in a penalty shootout on Saturday [8 October].
It was also a positive week for the Peterborough Phantoms, who scored a perfect record with wins over the Sheffield Steeldogs and Swindon Wildcats.
The Guildford Flames handed the Belfast Giants their first defeat of the Elite League season, with former Toronto Marlie Eamon McAdam producing a 48-save performance in a 4-2 win.
There were also impressive wins for the Sheffield Steelers and Coventry Blaze, but the Glasgow Clan remain the story.
Malcolm Cameron’s side secured their first point of the season on Saturday, albeit in a shootout loss against the Blaze. Colton Yellow Horn, formerly of the Clan, scored the winner.
However, Glasgow crashed back to earth on Sunday [9 October] with a humiliating 7-2 loss versus the Fife Flyers.
Their record on the season, including the Elite League and Challenge Cup, is 0-11-1.
Cameron’s hotseat must now be scorching.
