According to NHL.com, Boeser misses the cut to play for the U.S. in February. Canucks teammates Quinn Hughes and J.T. Miller were on the roster, with Hughes already being named to the official roster.

After putting up a career-high 40 goals in 81 games last season, the winger has picked up right where he left off with five goals in ten games. He also has four assists and could stay on a point-a-game pace.

His chemistry with Miller also could be a reason for his addition to the roster. Miller has scored a career-high and team-high 103 points on a line with Boeser in 23-24. When national teams are put together, building chemistry has to be part of the decision-making process.

Boeser is also very responsible on the defensive end. Since 2023, he has continually outscored his opposition on the ice.

If Boeser makes the roster, he might not be in a top-six role, but with his defensive play and ability to score at a moment’s notice, the winger deserves a spot on the team.
