Jordie Egerdahl‘s power-play goal with 2:31 left in regulation was all the offense the Cobbers needed on Wednesday, as Concordia held off St. Catherine with a 1-0 victory at home to move on to the MIAC Quarterfinals. Abbey Hardwick was credited with an assist on the play to give the Cobbers their first MIAC playoff victory since the 2016 campaign. Kiana Flaig spent the full 60 minutes in-goal for Concordia, stopping all 21 shots she faced. Elizabeth Kubicek made 36 saves against 37 shots for the Wildcats.

Concordia will move on to face top-seeded Gustavus in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in St. Peter. Gustavus swept Concordia in two regular-season games back in January. The Gusties and Cobbers have squared off in the MIAC Playoffs five times before, including the 2012 and 2013 playoff championship games. Gustavus holds a 5-0 advantage all-time against Concordia in the conference tournament.

NO. 7 BETHEL 3, NO. 10 ST. OLAF 1 | Box Score |
Julia McAlpin‘s game-winner bookended by a pair of Lexi DeBace goals boosted Bethel to its first MIAC Playoff victory since 2018 with a 3-1 win over St. Olaf on Wednesday night. After a scoreless first period, the Oles’ Annika Patterson scored unassisted midway through the second to put St. Olaf on top. DeBace scored less than six minutes into the third frame and was credited with an assist on McAlpin’s game-winner ten minutes later. Ivy Shonka stopped 33-of-36 shots for the Oles while Mallory Tidona got the win in-goal for Bethel with 25 saves in 60 minutes of action.

Bethel will match up with No. 2 seed Hamline in the quarterfinals on Saturday night. The two teams split their regular-season series the last weekend in January with each team winning on their home ice. Hamline won the only previous postseason matchup between the two programs in 2008.
