Colts add Cadaret to bench, finalize coaching staffThe Barrie Colts are happy to announce they have finalized the Coaching Staff for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Connor Cadaret is joining the Colts from the Collingwood Blues (OJHL) where he held the Associate Coach title for this past season. Cadaret has previous coaching experience with the Bonnyville Pontiacs (AJHL) and the Cobourg Cougars (OJHL). This past season Cadaret helped the Collingwood Blues capture the Centennial Cup Championship at the National Junior A Championship. Cadaret will join the Colts as an Assistant Coach and will be responsible for being the eyes in the sky.
“We’re excited that Connor has decided to join us here in Barrie after helping Collingwood to a National Championship. Connor is a bright hockey mind who we look forward to welcoming to our city and team” Commented Head Coach & GM, Marty Williamson.
Dennis Martindale is returning for his third season as a member of the Colts staff and is making the move onto the bench. Martindale has served the past two seasons as an Assistant Coach being the eyes in the sky. Before joining the Colts, Martindale spent two seasons with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the QMJHL.
“We’re happy to have Dennis make the move to the bench this coming season. He’s been a valuable resource for us the past two seasons in his previous role and we feel he is going to be a great asset to our bench.” Added Head Coach & GM, Marty Williamson.
Dylan Smoskowitz will be entering his third season as a member of the Coaching staff as an Assistant Coach. Before being on the bench, Smoskowitz played in 127 games as a member of the Colts and went on to play in 255 games in the OHL where he amassed 141 points.
“I’m excited to have Dylan back with us and have him expand his role with our group. Dylan has a bright future in our game and is a resource our players gravitate towards for learning.” Added Williamson.
Marty Williamson is entering his 16th season as a Head Coach in the OHL while also serving as General Manager. Williamson has coached in 1020 games, holding 561 wins. Williamson currently sits as the seventh Most Winningest Coach in the history of the OHL.
