Guelph, ON – General Manager George Burnett announced today that the club has hired Daniel Fitzgerald as an Assistant Coach to complete their coaching staff for the 2023-24 season.
Fitzgerald joins the Storm after spending four seasons as the Head Coach of the OJHL’s Brantford 99ers and last season as the Head Coach of the OHL’s Niagara IceDogs. The Ancaster, Ont. native also spent two seasons as bench boss in the GOJHL, split between the St. Catharines Falcons and the Cambridge Winter Hawks. Fitzgerald started his coaching career with the Dundas Blues of the NDJCHL where he earned the Ontario Hockey Association Coach of the Year honours in 2014-15.

Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Fitzgerald played four seasons of junior hockey and suited up for the Niagara University Purple Eagles for the 2009-10 ACHA season.
