Former Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Reinhart had a career year with the Florida Panthers in 2023-24. He set new career highs with 57 goals and 94 points in 82 games and helped the Panthers win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. It is also why he landed his big eight-year, $69 million contract with the Cats this past off-season.

Reinhart is certainly starting off his new contract on the right foot. The 2014 second-overall pick currently has 10 goals and is tied with Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov and Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar for the NHL lead in points with 21. When noting that Reinhart has only played 13 games this season, this production is extremely impressive.
Reinhart, 28, is not showing any signs of slowing down, either. He is currently on a five-game point streak, where he has five goals and nine points over that span.
Reinhart spent the first seven seasons of his NHL career with the Sabres, where he had 134 goals and 295 points in 454 games. With the Sabres needing a top-six winger right now, they undoubtedly are missing Reinhart.
