The Vegas Golden Knights have had an excellent start to the season, winning each of their first three games. Former Buffalo Sabres superstar Jack Eichel was a big reason for it, as he had one goal, seven points, and a plus-4 rating during them.

The NHL has now rewarded Eichel for his marvelous start to the campaign. The 2015 second-overall pick was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week (Oct. 4 to Oct. 13). Utah Hockey Club’s Dylan Guenther was named the First Star, while Winnipeg Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck earned the Second Star spot.
Seeing Eichel being named one of the NHL’s top three stars of the week is entirely understandable. He led the NHL with his six assists and seven points, so he clearly warranted some recognition for his strong offensive play.
It will now be fascinating to see how the former Sabre builds off it from here.
