Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Emil Andrae has been a pleasant surprise for the Metropolitan Division club this season. The 5-foot-9 defender has been showing that he belongs in the NHL, and he added to his case in the club’s latest matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Andrae hit a significant career milestone against the Golden Knights, as he scored his first NHL goal.
Andrae’s goal was a beauty, too. The left-shot defender picked up a Garnet Hathaway rebound and sniped it top shelf by Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov.

Andrae has displayed at the American Hockey League (AHL) level with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms that he has the potential to provide offense from the point. Now, he has his first goal as a Flyer, and it will be fun to see how he builds off it from here.
